EEMS History

EEMS is the result of the spin-off of an operating unit of Texas Instruments and since 1994 has managed to establish a leading position, on a worldwide basis, through the offer of a real one-stop-shop business from silicon chip to IC packages.

  • 1969
    • Rieti (Italy) site started by Texas Instruments (TI) as a manufacturing plant of Semiconductors and Consumer Product for Europe
  • 1977
    • First memory product produced in Rieti by TI
  • 1982
    • First memory module (DIMM) invented and produced in Rieti by TI
  • 1985
    • The Italian site becomes the European Memory Business Unit of TI Memory division
  • 1994
    • TI spins off memory backends and Rieti operation, named EEMS, becomes an independent provider of backend services for memory products
  • 2000
    • EEMS establishes a prototype assembly site in Singapore
  • 2005
    • EEMS opens a new memory assembly and test operation in Suzhou (China) and acquires specialized test service activity in Singapore
  • 2006
    • Following the IPO EEMS becomes a public company
    • EEMS Group expands Singapore operations service to provide wafer level CSP
    • EEMS Group expands Suzhou operations to provide assembly for mixed signal/logic/RF products
